ProjectVolunteering is based explicitly on Trust, Patience and Humility. As time passes I realized that there is one more pillar that is as important as the first three. This pillar is already present in most of the things we do in the project but it is not yet spelled out. This forth foundation is the one that pushes things forward, that gives the long term breath to the project and that keeps us here long enough to learn. I'll call it tenacity.
At a general level tenacity is the strength of our purpose, it enriches Trust and Humility with the dimension of time, it gives target to Patience.
Tenacity is essential for our learning, the long, meandering process that we agree to take on.
Adding this fourth pillar acknowledges more clearly that there are challenges that need to be continuously addresses.
As such, we finally spell out the value of perseverance.
